Kelly Skinner

I moved to Newstead in 1989, in the house in the main street next door to what is now Dig. My passions are music and storytelling. I am now retired from paid work but keep busy as Festival Director of Newstead Live Music Festival; creating web sites for community groups; writing anecdotes and recording songs for my own web site; and acting as a funeral celebrant within our community.

Julie Patey

Inspired by texture and colour Julie uses the printmaking process with mixed media to create deeply textured and layered works.

Her work is related directly to nature and the landscape. Her concerns are addressing the spirit of the land, colours of the seasons, and the textures reflected in the landscape

Julie’s studio looks across Lake Cairn Curran, which is a constant inspiration to her.

A practicing artist and art teacher for thirty years, she has also managed an exhibiting career, with exhibitions in Victoria, NSW and Qld, along with teaching and mentoring younger artists.
